Our urgent care services provide timely medical attention for serious concerns, giving you peace of mind when your pet needs to be seen quickly.

When your pet isn’t feeling their best, we’re here to help. Whether your pet is experiencing vomiting, diarrhea, limping, minor injuries, or other non-emergency concerns, our team will assess their condition, recommend appropriate treatment, and work to get them feeling better as quickly as possible.

When to Seek Urgent Care for Your Pet

You may want to seek an urgent care visit if your pet is experiencing:

  • Urinary issues (straining, urinating blood)
  • Toxin or foreign body ingestion
  • Bite wounds
  • Parasite concerns (fleas, mites, sudden itching)
  • Ear or eye infections or injuries (redness, discharge, squinting, head shaking)
  • Coughing or sneezing
  • Dehydration or excessive drinking
  • Diarrhea or vomiting
  • Cuts, abrasions, or abscesses
  • Constipation – straining or inability to have a bowel movement
  • Sudden lameness, serious pain, or limping
  • Rash, hair loss, excessive scratching
  • Scooting
  • Bee stings, hives, or facial swelling
  • Broken toenails

What’s the difference between an urgent care visit and an emergency?

Urgent care is for medical concerns that require prompt attention but are not life-threatening. An emergency involves life-threatening conditions that require immediate medical care for survival.

Examples of life-threatening emergencies include:

  • Being hit by a car
  • Severe difficulty breathing
  • Inability to urinate
  • Excessive or uncontrolled bleeding
  • Abdominal bloating
  • Heat stroke, collapse or seizures

Is Patt Veterinary Hospital equipped to handle emergencies during regular hours?
In most cases, during our regular business hours, our medical team is equipped to provide urgent care. However, in some situations, we may recommend you take your pet directly to an emergency or specialty hospital. Certain emergencies require specialized staff or equipment. Please call ahead so we can prepare for your arrival or advise you on the best route for your pet’s situation.

What if my pet needs hospitalization or surgery?
Our doctor will review all recommended treatment options with you and discuss treatment options. If specialty care or 24-hour monitoring is needed, we will coordinate a transfer to a trusted emergency or specialty hospital.

What payment options do you accept?
We do not offer in-house payment plans. We accept major credit cards, cash, CareCredit, Trupanion and Scratchpay. Our team will review all estimates with you prior to treatment.
